Homework refers to learning activities or tasks assigned to learners by their teachers to be completed outside of regular class hours, typically at home. Some parents assume that homework is given to test their ability to remember what was taught in the 1900's but that is not the goal. Homework is meant to reinforce learning, develop skills, and build confidence in a fun and engaging way.
But that is not always the case, we have all had situations of a frustrated toddler, that does not know how exactly to navigate their homework and in a bid to help, we end up doing it for them. This is only a quick fix to a bigger situation.

As we partner to nurture your child's growth in kindergarten, let's explore ways to make homework a positive experience. Since our kindergarten 1 and 2 pupils are still developing their reading skills, your guidance is crucial. Here are 6 tips to make homework a breeze:
- Teamwork makes the dream work! Read those instructions together with your mini-me. It's the perfect way to ensure they grasp what's expected.
- The perfect grip! Help your child master the tripod grip (thumb, index, and middle fingers). It's a game-changer for writing and drawing!

- Picture perfect! Use visual clues like pictures and diagrams to help your child understand the task. It's like having a secret decoder!
- Break it down! Divide homework into smaller, manageable chunks. Take breaks in between, and voilà! Learning just got a whole lot more fun!
- Let them shine! Encourage independence by letting your child work on their own. Resist the urge to do it for them – it's all about building confidence.

- Make it fun! Turn homework into a positive experience with engaging materials and plenty of praise. Who knows, your child might just become a homework rockstar!
Remember, homework is a journey, not a destination. By following these tips, you'll help your child develop essential skills, build confidence, and foster a love for learning.
